Dear Mr. Earndhardt,

First, we hope this message makes it to you!  We are big racing fans and owners of  B&B Grocery, Meat & Deli, a small family-owned butcher shop in Des Moines, Iowa.  While not all of us root for you, you can bet that some of us will be cheering for you during this racing season.

We are writing you today after reading that PETA asked you to consider them sponsoring your car.  Well, we would like to ask if you would consider putting our (and other small family-owned businesses)  message on your car.  Just like you, we are the third generation in our family’s business.  Our grandfather first started our butcher shop in 1922 when he was 16 years old!   Our father was 10 years old when he started helping by stocking shelves.  Of course, we were about the same age when we started working too.  We are proud to continue the family butcher shop and have even become known for our Killer Sandwiches.  In fact, our Dad’s Killer Sandwich was voted the best deli sandwich in Des Moines, Iowa.  Let’s just say we are masters at cutting beef (and other types of meat) and making Killer Sandwiches!

As you no doubt know, there are thousands of family-owned small businesses located all across the United States.   These businesses are very much part of each community that they serve.  By supporting a small business, you are helping the entire community.   Unfortunately, small businesses most likely don’t have the luxury to take advantage of an advertising avenue such as being a sponsor on a NASCAR car.

Imagine how you would invigorate local economies by having small businesses sponsoring your car.  You would help many family-owned businesses and local entrepreneurs get exposure that would turn into more sales and jobs!   We believe a third generation racecar driver would be the perfect representative for all the family-owned, multi-generational businesses that exist in America!

Thanks in advance for your consideration.  We invite you to stop by for a Killer Sandwich to further discuss you supporting family-owned business such as ours.

Best Regards,

Joe & John Brooks
3rd Generation at
B&B Grocery, Meat & Deli

P.S.  Just in case you don’t believe that we are race fans, we already support local racing as evidenced by the picture attached to this letter.
