This week we debuted the Sunday Drivers’ Traveling Trophy. Toss the low score for the day and you take the trophy home for a week! It was a beautiful morning with a large turnout. There were about 20 of us tossing discs. Plus, we had a disc golf caddy cart that can carry anything you need for disc golf. Best way to describe it is to think about Rodney Dangerfield’s golf bag from CaddyShack. Just check out the video below and you’ll see how cool it is.
Brant tossed the lowest score and took home the Sunday Drivers’ Traveling Trophy!

Brant threw today like he was making his way threw the field at the Masters. Not only did he toss a hole-in-one, he also shot a 51 that would be enough to take home the green jacket. Week 93 was a Masters morning!
Recently, the National Pork Board and the National Cattelmen’s Beef Association came up with the idea to change the name of several cuts of pork. The new names are very similar to names for similar cuts of beef. The goal is to make it easier for people to identify a cut of meat. See the news release using the following link, “Pork Cuts to Get New Consumer-Friendly Names at the Meat Case”
Of course, the new names are going to cause some confusion. Even our third generations get tripped up a little when trying to use the new names. It is just hard to change when you’ve used certain names your whole life. Check out John jr as he explains some of the new names for cuts of meat on WHOtv’s Agribusiness report that aired April 11, 2013.
We will custom cut to your specifications!
Regardless of the new names, we can say the following with 100% confidence! Pork is still Pork and Beef is still Beef. Therefore, just let our 3rd generation butchers know what you want and we’ll make sure we direct you to the right cut of meat. Need something special? No problem! Just ask and we’ll custom cut it for you!
If the desire for a ham and cheese on a foot- long piece of white bread strikes; don’t go to B&B Grocery, Meat & Deli on 2001 Southeast Sixth St. because owners John and Joe Brooks won’t make that simple of a sandwich.
We had a great group tossing the discs this morning! Check out the mid-round shot (below) of us teeing off. Better yet, check out the video below of us tossing discs off the tee box. The group gets bigger as the weather gets warmer!
